Music
Through his feature film and original soundtrack work, Galora founder Peter McGennis has earned his reputation as a "multimedia storyteller." McGennis has had the privilege to write and produce original music with an incredible list of Grammy winning and nominated talent including Allen Toussaint, Jimmy Smith, Maria Muldaur, Susan Tedeschi, James Cotton, Sharon Jones, Average White Band, Magic Slim, Kermit Ruffins, James Rivers, Toni Lynn Washington among others. On a local level, McGennis seizes every opportunity to discover and showcase local talent on the big screen. Having recorded with dozens of area musicians, Galora has carved a niche and raised the bar for commercial music production having created jingles like "We Love Our Towne." Galora has produced a catalog of vinyl records encompassing McGennis' original soundtracks or "movie albums" and he refers to them. As part of an expanding musical film series, McGennis created his protean brainchild / studio project musical ensemble "Pete & The Amusements" that perform and appear on camera as a storytelling vehicle crossing genres and traveling though time. Recent projects include the Dust Bowl musical "Close To Jubilee," a rock opera feature film "Laff In The Dark,"and the musical blues comedy movie "St. Peter Street" filmed in both Buffalo and New Orleans.
As a musical storyteller, McGennis has mastered the art of giving voice through music. Galora extends the same opportunity to those looking to tell their story and stand out in today's cluttered world. Whether it's creating an original score, song, company jingle or music video, we welcome an opportunity to collaborate, create and discover the magic of musical storytelling.
